Contractors can email the office to get setup to apply for permits online. There are application guidelines available on our website to walk you though the process. Please note that the permit application must be filled out and uploaded with each online application.
All documents must be submitted electronically via email, or they can be mailed directly to our office at 18001 Gulf Boulevard, Redington Shores, FL 33708. Please note that there is a 5-day waiting period for all documents received in the mail due to COVID-19. Our office is still performing exterior inspections. Interior inspections are being handled on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the type of inspection being requested, the inspection will be completed in person, via photos or affidavit. Even if a physical inspection is not being performed, you must follow protocol by contacting the front desk to schedule an inspection for our records. Please contact our office for additional information.
The Town of North Redington Beach Building Department is staffed by Florida Municipal Services, Inc., a private company dedicated to providing full-service building departments to municipalities throughout Florida. The Building Department provides building plan and site reviews and building inspections within the Town of North Redington Beach, per Florida Building Code. The plan review and inspection functions include all commercial and residential construction plan and site reviews, inspections of these structures while under construction, and the tracking and reporting of permits issued and completed inspections. The Building Department may also disseminate building code information and ADA Standards.
To Obtain a Building Permit:
To begin the permitting process, submit a completed permit application package to the Building Department for review. For guidance in completing the package please refer to the Permit Application Checklist located to the right in the “Permit Checklists Box” section. Each permit is reviewed to comply with local land use designation, ordinances, the Florida Building Code, National Electrical Code, the National Fire Prevention Code, and the Energy Conservation Code. Planning & Zoning clearance and site plan review will be performed concurrent with the review of the building permit application. Building Permit Applications, Permit Application Checklists, and all forms are available for pick up at the Building Department and most forms are available to print from this website. You may click on the desired form in the “Permit Application” or “Permit Checklist Box” located to the right on this page. After the permit is reviewed and approved, you will be notified that it is ready for issue. Payment may be made by check, credit or debit card. No cash payments can be received.

- 6th Edition (2017) Florida Building, Plumbing, 2014 National Electric Code, Mechanical, Gas, Residential, Existing Building Codes, & Energy Conservation Code
- National Fire Prevention Code
- Any Town ordinance or State statute which affects building and development
Commercial Fire Review:
Commercial projects requiring fire safety inspections and plan review will be routed by the Building Department to the City of Seminole Fire Rescue Department.

Methods of Payment Accepted:
The following methods of payment are accepted:
- Credit or Debit Cards: Master Card, Visa, Discover, Diner’s Club
- Business or Personal Checks
Effective 4/1/2020, there is a 4% processing fee for all credit card charges.
Work is allowed from 8 A.M. to 6 P.M., Monday through Saturday, but not on Sundays, Thanksgiving, or December 25th. The Town of North Redington Beach Building Department inspects commercial/industrial, residential/multi-family projects. All Building Code, Site/Zoning, and Fire (commercial) Inspections must be successfully performed and approved before a Certificate of Occupancy or Certificate of Completion can be issued.
To Schedule an Inspection
Provide permit number, project address, type of inspection, and contact information by 4:00 pm one business day prior to date of inspection via any contact method below. Inspections requiring special arrangements are to be called in at least two business days prior, if possible. The Permit Card and Field Inspection Report must be posted on-site and accessible to the inspector.

Notice of Commencement
A signed, notarized Notice of Commencement must be recorded at the Pinellas County Recorder’s office for building projects which exceed $2,500 cost of construction ($7,500 for mechanical/air conditioning). The signed and recorded Notice of Commencement must be submitted to our office prior to scheduling the first inspection.

You will have to contact one of the eRecord Vendors listed on their website directly with questions or for additional information.
Permits will expire 180 days from date of issue unless an inspection is performed and approved prior to expiration. Each approved inspection extends expiration date for an additional 180 days. The permit may be extended by submitting an extension request in writing to the Building Department prior to expiration date.
